San Marcos, TX – Texas State University's School of Theatre, Dance, and Film presents Everybody, a thought-provoking and visually stunning play by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, running April 1 through 6 in the Theatre Center Mainstage Theatre.

Directed by the talented Kara-Lynn Vaeni, one of the newest faculty members, this profoundly engaging work explores themes of fate, mortality, and the human condition inventively and emotionally. Everybody reimagines the 15th-century morality play Everyman for a contemporary audience.

Life is unexpected, and so is this production. Audiences will never know who is playing who—casting is a lottery, a game of chance. At the top of the show, actors will draw their character from a hat. The ensemble features Sammy Arungwa, Drew Dunson, Fallon Fontenot, Kate Herlihy, Britney Huguley, Oliver Knight, Ron Lessane, Illiana Perez, Jack Peznola, Ronisha Reneus, Abigail Rose, and Natoz Walker.

The creative team has worked to bring Jacobs-Jenkins' thought-provoking script to the stage, transporting audiences into the play's metaphysical world. The team consists of Kacey Wasson, scenic designer; Sarah Rosenkranz, costume designer; Emma Bayless, lighting designer; Trinity Lee, sound designer; Colin Shay, technical director; Abigail Thompson, dramaturg; and Catherine Kenner, production stage manager.

Audiences will not want to miss Everybody with it’s blend of humor, heart, and deep philosophical exploration.

TXST School of Theatre, Dance, and Film is offering San Marcos residents the exclusive opportunity to attend a pay-what-you-can dress rehearsal. For more information, please email theatre@txstate.edu
