TXST SoTDF presents Dracula, A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really.
This familiar Gothic tale will be turned upside down, giving audiences the horror and dark comedy they crave!
San Marcos, TX – Texas State University's School of Theatre, Dance, and Film presents Kate Hamill’s Dracula, A Feminist Revenge Fantasy, Really, running November 13–16 and November 20–22, 2025, in the Theatre Center PSHF Studio Theatre.
Directed by Angela Rose Williams, this familiar Gothic tale will be turned upside down, giving audiences the horror and dark comedy they crave. Based on Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel, audiences can anticipate witty dialogue, theatrical surprises, and a thrilling ride that asks: Can you tell the monster from the man?
This reimagined tale features Nicholas May (Dracula), Cosi Arthur (Dr. Van Helsing), Lilli Shank (Mina Harker), Ryan Hoxie (Jonathan Harker), Kylie Hill (Lucy Westenra), Illiana Perez (Marilla and others), Amalia Cabrera (Drusilla and others), Stori Silva (Renfield), and Faraz Mobli (Dr. George Seward).
The creative team includes Emily Cook, scenic designer; Nina Haurani, costume designer; Ethan Bauer, lighting designer; Xavier Dvorak, sound designer; Andre Rodriguez, technical director; Leo Calderon, assistant director/dramaturg; and Janae Payton, production stage manager.
Before the opening, the cast and production team will host a blood drive on Nov. 1 in collaboration with We Are Blood, a local blood bank. The We Are Blood bus will arrive at the Theatre Center parking lot and offer appointments from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Walk-ins will not be accepted. Donors should eat a full meal before the appointment and bring their photo ID. Donors can expect a 15-to 31-minute appointment, followed by a complimentary t-shirt and snacks.
Dracula runs November 13–16 and November 20–22, 2025, in the PSHF Studio Theatre. Current students can receive a complimentary ticket courtesy of the President (online only). Patrons can find all other ticket types available for purchase online at txstatepresents.com or at the door.
