The TXST musical theatre program announced the launch of its innovative “Last-Dollar” scholarship initiative in the fall of 2024. This initiative is designed to eliminate financial barriers for incoming first-time students who possess a passion for musical theatre.

This initiative underscores Texas State University's commitment to ensuring that education remains accessible and affordable. The “Last-Dollar” scholarship will cover any outstanding tuition costs following the application of federal and state financial aid, creating a tuition-free experience for first time freshmen students.

Texas State School of Theatre, Dance, and Film was recently recognized as the #22 Top Drama Schools in the World by the Hollywood Reporter, rising from the #25 spot in 2024. For years the musical theatre program has been recognized as one of the nation's most reputable and affordable musical theatre programs. The TXST MT program cultivates a dynamic population of Broadway-caliber artists and change-makers grounded in a deep understanding of wellness, communal responsibility, integrity, and curiosity.

Through the "Last-Dollar" scholarship initiative, TXST musical theatre students can concentrate on honing their craft and unleashing their creativity without financial constraints. Texas State musical theatre cordially invites all prospective students to apply and join the esteemed Bobcat family.
