Orchesis Dance Company is an on-campus dance ensemble composed completely of Texas State students of all majors and disciplines. In keeping with the artistic and individual values of the Texas State University School of Theatre, Dance, and Film, Orchesis Dance Company seeks to foster artistic expression, facilitate a sense of comradery among dancers, and to provide students with an opportunity to share their passion for dance with family, friends, colleagues and members of the academic and fine arts communities.
For the 2025-2026 season, we as the staff members want to use the time and resources given to us by the Dance Division to produce an honest and artistically sound of body. The choreographic styles of the Artistic Staff this year are immensely diverse; an aspect that we believe will allow us to work collaboratively and be successful. We wish to use our time and resources to provide a space for dancers to develop skills that they make take with them after the season ends. Furthermore, we have been working diligently to prepare for an amazing season with passionate and driven dancers.

When are auditions?
The auditions will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 6:30-9:30pm in a Jowers Studio B175.

Do I need to prepare anything?

What should I wear?
Please wear a black form-fitting tank top/leotard, with black leggings or black biker shorts. Shoes are dancer's choice. We ask that you do not wear basketball or loose-fitting shorts, harem pants, sweat pants, joggers, baggy t-shirts, sweatshirts etc.

What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in and warm-up. The auditions will take place on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 6:30-9:30pm in a Jowers Studio B175.
